专利说明:
CLAMP AND CLAMPING METHOD The present invention concerns a clamp and a clamping method for clamping ducts or tubes. Background It is previously known to clamp ducts or tubes using a string or wire and a clamp. The technology is especially suitable for compressible ducts or tubes, such as ducts for ventila- tion made of nonwoven fibres and laminated on preferably both inside and outside surfaces. A specific clamp of the known art is DE 202008002830 Ul. It has a complex construction with many parts and it sticks out radially from the duct or tube too much. The wire or string needs to be introduced through two opposite holes in a cylinder provided closest to the duct, then drawn around a central axle hanging down from a second part and further out through two holes in the second part and finally aligned in two clamping slits close to the top of the clamp, radially seen from the duct. There is a risk of the string or wire to slide underneath the central axle and thus not be wound on the central axle. Another risk is that the cylinder crushes the surface of the duct. Summary of the invention The object of the present invention is to provide a safe, simple and effective way of clamping tubes or ducts and a clamp for this purpose. It is also an object to provide a clamp that sticks out radially from the duct or tube as little as possible and is quickly and easily fitted. An additional object is to safe guard any surface, for example a lamination, from damage. The objects of the present invention is at least partially met in a clamp and a clamping method according to the attached claims. Application text 2014-11-28140073SE 2 According to a first aspect of the present invention a clamp is provided for clamping ducts and tubes comprising a base to be in contact with an outer surface of a duct or tube. The clamp also comprises a pin, which in a first end is rotatably arranged in the base, so that a lengthwise axis of the pin is substantially orthogonal to the base and the outer surface of the duct or tube. The pin is provided with at least one throughgoing hole in a direction transverse the axis of the pin. The clamp additionally comprises a wire or string, for encircling the ducts or tubes, having two ends, which ends are receivable in the through-hole in the pin. The wire or string is windable through rotation of the pin. A locking element is locking the wire or string in desired position. This clamp has a simple yet effective design which is easily used. The radial distance out from the tube or duct is only a base, wire and a nut long. The invention has its biggest potential when used for clamping ducts or tubes made of a compressible material such as fibres, for example nonwoven fibres, and possibly being laminated at the outside and preferably also on the inside for fire protection. Since the pin is rotatably arranged in the base plate any surface protection, lamination or the like will not be damaged since the base does not rotate. If the base is in the form of a plate or the like, preferably following the shape of the outside of the duct or tube, the risk of damaging the outer surface is minimized. According to an embodiment the locking element is a nut and the pin is provided with threads for receiving the nut from a second end of the pin. According to one embodiment the pin has a form fit in the second end for enhancing the rotating of the pin. Preferably, the form fit is provided in the end surface of the pin, preferably in the form of a hex key- or torx-connection. According to another embodiment a washer, conical washer or cap is removably provided on the pin, between the base and the nut. With this washer or cap an enhanced locking of the wire or string will be possible. Application text 2014-11-28140073SE 3 According to a further embodiment the throughgoing hole is provided in the vicinity of the base. Thus the wire or string will clamp around the duct or tube in an even way without adding force components radially inwards onto the surface of the duct or tube. This is important so that any risk of damaging the surface of the duct or tube is minimized. Another advantage is that this also makes the clamp shorter in a radial distance outwards the duct or tube. According to a second aspect of the present invention a clamping method is provided comprising the steps encircling the ducts or tubes with a wire or string; introducing the two ends of the wire or string through the throughhole provided in a pin of a clamp; rotating the pin, which is rotatably arranged in a base, provided closest to the ducts or tubes, with its lengthwise axis substantially orthogonal to the base and the wire or string, such that the wire or string is wound around the pin and thereby tightening the clamping of the ducts or tubes; and fixing the clamping by means of a locking element. In an embodiment of the clamping method the locking element is a nut which is rotated from a second end of the pin, which pin is threaded, down to the wire or string and thus locking the clamp. In another embodiment the rotating of the pin for winding the wire or string around the pin is in opposite the tightening direction of rotation of the nut. In a further embodiment a washer, conical washer or cap is provided closest to the wire or string for locking, via the locking element or nut, the wire or string. Short description of the figures Embodiments of the present invention will be shown in the attached drawings, wherein Fig. 1shows a clamp in a side view in its basic embodiment comprising base, pin, wire and nut, Application text 2014-11-28140073SE 4 Fig. 2shows an embodiment of a clamp in a cross sectional view with an additional conical washer, Fig. 3shows the embodiment of Fig. 2 in a top view, and Fig. 4shows another embodiment of a clamp in a side view with an additional cap. Detailed description of embodiments of the present invention The present invention will now be described in more detail with referral to the figures. In Fig. 1 a first embodiment of a clamp according to the present invention is shown. The clamp 1 comprises a base 2 which could be in the form of a plate, circular or any other shape. Preferably, the base 2 is curved according to a periphery of a duct or tube if that has a curved outer shape. A first side 3 of the base 2 is to be in contact with the outer surface of a duct 10 or tube when in use. It is preferred that the base is in contact with the outer surface of the duct or tube with a large area in order to spread any radial force component not to damage the outer surface of the duct or tube. Substantially orthogonally to the base a pin 4 is arranged in a way so that it may rotate in the base 2, without the base 2 rotating at the same time. Thus, the pin 4 rotates freely in the base 2. The pin 4 is rotatable around its lengthwise axis 5. The pin 4 extends essential- ly only from a second side 6 of the base 2, outwards from the duct 10 or tube, arranged in a first end 7 in the base 2 and a second end 8 of the pin is free. The pin 4 is provided with at least a throughgoing hole 9 in the pin 4, preferably transverse the lengthwise axis 5. A wire 11 or string is arranged to encircle the duct 10 or tube to be clamped. The duct 10 or tube may be clamped to another duct 10 or tube or to any apparatus or connecter or the like as the person skilled in the art will understand. The wire 11 or string has two ends 12, 13. The ends 12, 13 are receivable in the throughgoing hole 9, either from the same side but preferably from opposite sides of the throughgoing hole 9. Application text 2014-11-28140073SE When the ends 12, 13 of the wire 11 or string is received in the throughgoing hole 9 in the pin 4 the pin 4 is rotatable so that the wire 11 or string will be wound around the pin 4 and the wire 11 or string will tighten around the periphery of the duct 10 or tube in order to clamp the connection to be clamped. A locking element 14, such as a wedge, hoop or nut is arranged to lock when the wire 11 or string is tensioned to the desired tension or position. In an embodiment using a nut 14 the pin is preferably provided with threads 15 at least partially from the second, free, end 8 towards the base 2._The nut 14 may be provided at the free end 8 of the pin 4 and rotated downwards along the threads 15 towards the wire 11 or string in order to lock the chosen clamping of the wire 11 or string. The wire 11 or string will be locked by being clamped between the nut 14 and at least the edge of the throughgoing hole 9 of the pin 4 and possibly the base 2. If a wedge is used it may be pushed into the throughgoing hole 9 or if a hoop is used it may be arranged encircling the wire 11 or string or also through the throughgoing hole 9. The throughgoing hole 9 is preferably provided in the vicinity of the base 2 and as close to the base 2 as possible. Thus any force components working in a radial direction inwards the duct 10 or tube will be limited or not present. The wire 11 or string will clamp around the duct 10 or tube in an even way. This also makes the clamp 1 shorter in a radial distance outwards the duct 10 or tube. According to one embodiment the pin 4 has a form fit 16 in the second end 8 for enhancing the rotating of the pin 4. Preferably, the form fit 16 is provided in the end surface 17 of the pin 4, preferably in the shape of a hex key- or torx-connection. According to another embodiment shown in Fig. 2, 3 and Fig. 4, respectively, a washer, conical washer 18 or cap 19 is removably provided on the pin 4, between the base 2 and Application text 2014-11-28140073SE 6 the nut 14. With this washer 18 or cap 19 an enhanced locking of the wire 11 or string will be possible. Then the locking will also occur in the clamp between the washer 18 or cap 19 and the base 2. The inventive clamping method is carried out by the following steps. Encircle a wire 11 or string at least one time, preferably two times, around the periphery of a duct 10 or tube to be connected to another duct, tube, fitting or apparatus or the like. Introduce the ends 12, 13 of the wire 11 or string into a throughgoing hole 9 of a pin 4 in a clamp 1. The ends may be introduced from one side or, preferably, from opposite sides. Rotate the pin 4 around its lengthwise axis 5 so that the wire 11 or string will be wound around the pin 4 and thus be clamping evenly around the periphery of the duct 10 or tube. The pin 4 is rotatably arranged in a base 2 provided closest to the duct 10 or tube, the pin 4 is provided substantially orthogonal to the base 2 and wire 11 or string. When desired clamping is reached a locking element 14, such as a wedge, hoop or a nut 14, is used to fix or lock the clamping. If a nut 14 is used, rotate the nut 14 from the free end 8 of the pin 4 along the threads 15 of the pin 4 until it reaches the wire 11 or string and locks it in a clamp between the nut 14 and at least an edge of the throughgoing hole 9 in the pin 4 and additionally the base 2. In a preferred embodiment of the clamping method, the pin 4 is rotated in an opposite direction to the rotation of the nut 14 so that the tightening force along the wire 11 or string will work in the same direction as the tightening of the nut 14 and thus lock even safer, also if the clamp is exposed to vibrations.
